1999 Subaru outback sport impreza can anti-lock brakes system be deactivated/disconnected?

Doubtful. Why would you even want to? It's designed to help prevent skids when braking in poor traction conditions. If you are experiencing problems with it, have it repaired.|||1. Why would you want to do this? There is no logical reason.

2. Disconnecting the BS fuse can have some very bad consequences. In some cars (Neon) it changes the brake bias making the vehicle very difficult to control under hard braking. In others (many GM) it disconnects the rear brakes altogether.|||smarter to repair brakes which stop you than rig it and not stop dont you think so?

deactivated/disconnected sure they can be

but real question is why would one do it|||Simply pull the ABS fuse.|||pull the abs fuse
