Should the anti locking brake system indication light in the dash board be on while the vehicle is moving?

No. That indicates a malfunction in the ABS. It DOES NOT normally indicate a problem with the brakes. Just the anti-lock cabability.|||No, better get it check.|||NO, get it checked quickly|||No , There is a problem with your anti lock braking system . Basically this light means that optimum braking performance cannot be relied upon. This puts you , your passengers and others at risk . Best to have it diagnosed and fixed .|||The ABS light should not be on under normal circumstances, it should only come on when there is a problem with in the ABS, keep in mind that this does not indicate a problem with brake pads, brake lines, brake fluid ( or the brake light itself would come on) or other parts of the car. I would take the car to a tech center and have it checked out, if for nothing else piece of mind there is no substitution for SAFETY!!!|||no it should not be on at all..|||No, check your fluid level and / or brake pads depending on make or model. It should probably illuminate when you have ignition on, then for about two seconds after start up. Anti-lock brakes are not a thing you want problems with, the consequences of faulty brakes can be bad.|||No, it should remain on for around 2-3 seconds after starting the car, and go off. (different manufacturers have different timings, but 2-3 seconds is a rough guide)

If it remains on, it most likely indicates a fault, but does not mean the ABS will definitely be inactive - you may find it to be a fault in the diagnostic system rather than the ABS system itself.

- treat it as a complete ABS failure though in any case.

ANY warning lights important enough to be on the HUD should be fully investigated as soon as humanly possible..

To my mind though, ABS failing is a good thing - I hate it, I can brake harder, and stop quicker without it, whether the road be wet or dry. ABS cutting in is an annoyance, though I recognise it helps a lot of people out of a lot of situations.|||NO. Have brakes checked and fluids.
