What is the difference between the anti-lock brake system control module and the wheel speed sensors?

please i really need to know the difference, my opinion i think their is no difference between both, but i need another preson's opinion. please and thank you|||The module is mounted below the master cylinder on the fender well and has brake lines going to it.

The speed sensors are mounted behind each wheel rotor on the suspension.|||The wheel speed sensors are located at the wheel and measure the speed of the wheel. This information then goes via an electrical wire to the control module.

This information together with other information (how hard the driver is pressing the brake pedal) is then processed by the control module. The control module will then adjust the pressure of the brake-fluid that goes via a brake-line (pipe) to the wheel and in doing so will control how much this wheel will brake.
